“We plant seeds that one day will grow.
We water seeds already planted, knowing that they hold future promise.
We lay foundations that will need further development.
We cannot do everything and there is a sense of liberation in realizing that. This enables us to do something and to do it very well…
We may never see the end results, but that is the difference between the master builder and the worker.
We are workers, not master builders; ministers, not messiahs.
We are prophets of a future not our own.â€
—Monseñor Oscar Romero
This was my freeing thought today, my gracious invitation to do what I could do, focus on what I was called to in the moment, and to breathe. Just breathe a little. I’ve read this quote many times, but needed to hear it again today. Ever have one of those days?
I will be over here in the corner – just breathing, and doing, and resting, and remembering, and planting, and watering, and then resting again.
