Go See “Crash”

One of my favorite movies is Crash, which is now out on video. It’s got talent like Don Cheadle, Sandra Bullock, Ludacris, Matt Dillon, Jennifer Esposito, Brendan Fraser, and more – and it’s touching, unsettling, honest, and beautifully done. The film is a great conversation starter on race issues and provides a wide diversity of perspectives on most of the hot button issues that race and fears bring up. Here’s a bit from the summary on the website:

“Diving headlong into the diverse melting pot of post 9/11 L.A., this compelling urban drama tracks the volatile intersections of a multi-ethnic cast of characters’ struggles to overcome their fears as they careen in and out of one another’s lives. In the gray area between black and white, victim and agressor, there are no easy answers…”

  1. Liz –
My mom can’t stop talking about this movie with me. She’s fascinated by the characters, their complexity and the film’s statement about racism. We’ve had some GREAT conversations as a result of her seeing it. Seriously, I think she watched it over a month ago and keeps talking about it.
